Firefox has recently become very popular, probably because Google advertise it on the front page (or at least, they used to). Firefox renders pages better, browses the web faster, is safer and more secure, is more reliable, and more customizable and personalisable.
IE comes pre-loaded with any Windows installation, and that's why so many people on the internet use it - about 75-80%, AFAIK. But many people don't like it because it is insecure, unsafe, and slow at loading pages.

Customizable with plugins. Multiple tabs long before IE ever thought of adding that feature.

I'd have to agree, Firefox without a doubt for all the same reasons. Another reason, Microsoft have tried shafting Firefox users by making the Windows Media 11 player running a video on Firefox display badly, they have known about it since they released it & wont fix it trying to make people use IE, surely thats foul play Mr Gates!!!

Firefox hands down, i use it all the time and only go over to the dark side for testing, it loads quicker and has lots of cool plugins, plus its in pretty much in bed with Google lol
