Google is one of the world most recognisable brands, and is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing companies in history. It is often said that Google is the start page for the internet, loading the Google homepage goes virtually hand in hand with internet access.
Because it still find yahoo... quicker because of its own little mini sites like yahoo film or currency converter:-p

Google's interface is nice and clean, when you go to the Yahoo pages, you're totally BLASTED with things coming at you from every direction!

Most schools, libraries, colleges, and public places with internet access have Google set as the default search page. Google also has a currency converter (built into it's calculator function). It is quicker, more accurate, and returns more of the results that you want. They also kick Yahoo's arse when it comes to email. They also have numerous other tools, including a whole set of tools for webmasters, including Google Analytics. No doubt about it, Google kicks arse.
